Uzbekistan and Disney Discuss Opening Regional Office and Launching Children’s TV Channel
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Head of the Presidential Administration of Uzbekistan Saida Mirziyoyeva held a meeting with Haima Washington, Vice President of The Walt Disney and seven-time Emmy Award winner.
According to Saida Mirziyoyeva, the strategic goal is to transform Tashkent into a regional hub for the production of children’s content. In cooperation with Hollywood professionals, plans are underway to train a new generation of animators, directors, and screenwriters, she noted on her Telegram channel.
During the talks, both sides expressed mutual interest in opening a Central Asian office of The Walt Disney in Uzbekistan and launching a TV channel featuring full-fledged children’s content in the Uzbek language.
Prospective joint projects were also discussed, including the creation of a creative park, Cinema Park, offering special incentives for international companies.
Additionally, the idea of building a Disneyland-themed park was proposed, which could become a new driver for tourism development not only in Uzbekistan but across the entire region.
