Uzbekistan and DataVolt Discuss Construction of “Green” Data Center at IT Park

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Minister of Digital Technologies Sherzod Shermatov held a meeting with Anil Vijayachandran, Vice President for Development at DataVolt, to discuss the construction of a “green” data center.

During the talks, the parties reviewed the current progress of the project to establish an environmentally friendly data center at IT Park Uzbekistan and outlined the next stages of its development.

Particular attention was given to compliance with national legislation and international standards, as well as attracting foreign expertise and investment, which, according to both sides, will contribute to the sustainable growth of the country’s digital economy.

The discussions also covered the introduction of I-REC “green” certificates in Uzbekistan, securing sustainable energy supplies for the IT sector, and implementing new mechanisms in this area.

At the conclusion of the meeting, DataVolt representatives confirmed their participation in ICT Week Uzbekistan 2025 on 23 September and announced plans to host a dedicated panel session focused on “green” data centers.
