Uzbekistan and Czech Republic Discuss Investment Ties
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 9 April 2026, a meeting was held at the Ministry of Investment, Industry, and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan between Deputy Minister Akram Aliev and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic to Uzbekistan, Lubomír Frebort.
During the negotiations, the parties reviewed the current state and prospects for the development of bilateral trade, economic, and investment cooperation. They also discussed preparations for upcoming joint events. Special attention was paid to increasing mutual trade turnover, expanding industrial cooperation, and implementing investment projects in priority sectors of the economy.
Following the meeting, both sides confirmed their mutual interest in further strengthening the partnership and the practical implementation of reached agreements aimed at deepening trade and economic ties.
According to available data, the volume of mutual trade in 2025 amounted to approximately US$200 million. Currently, 44 enterprises with Czech capital operate in Uzbekistan. Cooperation spans the chemical and pharmaceutical industries, the construction sector, agriculture, equipment manufacturing, as well as logistics and IT services.
