Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A delegation from Uzbekistan visited Croatia with the support of the Uzbek Embassy, Dunyo news agency reported.

The delegation included representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the Agency for External Labor Migration of Uzbekistan.

During the visit, negotiations were held with Frano Matušić, State Secretary of the Croatian Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Željka Josić, State Secretary of the Ministry of Demography and Migration; and Ivan Vidiš, State Secretary of the Ministry of Labor, Pensions, Family, and Social Policy.

The discussions focused on expanding cooperation in labor migration. The Croatian side expressed strong interest in attracting skilled Uzbek specialists and offered to organize training courses for labor migrants, including Croatian and other foreign language programs. Additionally, agreements were reached on simplifying the process of obtaining work visas for Uzbek citizens.

Both parties agreed to draft an intergovernmental agreement on migration and mobility. They also emphasized mutual interest in organizing the first consular consultations between the foreign ministries of both countries.

As part of the visit, the delegation met with representatives of recruitment companies and Uzbek labor migrants to discuss employment opportunities and the protection of Uzbek citizens working in Croatia.
