Uzbekistan and China Energy Sign Three New Agreements in Green Energy Sector

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan has signed three new agreements with the Chinese company China Energy International Group aimed at developing renewable energy and modernizing the country’s energy infrastructure.

The documents were signed on 24 July by representatives of Wind and Solarshine for Electricity Distribution Panels Manufacturing LLC and China Energy International Group.

Under the agreements, several major projects will be implemented. Notably, the parties agreed to cooperate on the construction of a 500-megawatt wind power plant in the Peshku district of the Bukhara region. This facility will become one of the largest in the region and will supply clean electricity to hundreds of thousands of households.

Another agreement was signed to provide consulting support for a 100-megawatt energy storage system project in Tashkent. This facility will improve the resilience of the power grid and enhance the efficiency of renewable energy usage.

In addition, the parties signed an EPC contract (engineering, procurement, and construction) to carry out construction work on the above-mentioned projects.

All initiatives are part of Uzbekistan’s national strategy to transition to a low-carbon economy and achieve its sustainable development goals.
