Uzbekistan and China discuss investment and mining sector development

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 30 December 2025, First Deputy Minister of Mining Industry and Geology of Uzbekistan Feruza Khamidova, together with ministry officials, received a delegation headed by Yu Jun, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to Uzbekistan.

During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the reforms carried out in recent years in Uzbekistan’s mining and geology sectors, and discussed the significance of the updated version of the Law “On Subsoil” and the favourable conditions now in place for investors.

Special attention was given to investment projects being implemented within the framework of Uzbek-Chinese cooperation, including initiatives by Chinese investors in the mining industry.

The parties also discussed prospects for further expanding cooperation and attracting new investment into the sector.
