Uzbekistan and China Discuss Development of Agricultural Cooperation and Financing

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Uzbekistan Alisher Shukurov met with Gu Mo, Manager of the Preferential Lending Department at the Export-Import Bank of China.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the development of bilateral agricultural cooperation, moving joint projects into practical implementation, and expanding promising initiatives.

Particular attention was given to the strategic programs of the Export-Import Bank of China in Uzbekistan in the agricultural and food sectors, the national agricultural development strategy, and ongoing investment projects financed by the bank.

Mechanisms for additional financing to purchase cotton harvesting equipment were also considered.

As a result of the meeting, specific directions were identified to increase agricultural productivity, improve the quality of services, and expand scientific and technological cooperation between the two countries.
