Uzbekistan and Brazil Discuss Expansion of Cooperation during Political Consultations in Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 10 December, Tashkent hosted the latest round of political consultations between the foreign ministries of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Federative Republic of Brazil.

The delegations were led by Uzbekistan’s Deputy Foreign Minister Muzaffar Madrahimov and Brazil’s Deputy Foreign Minister Suzanne Kleebank. Newly appointed Ambassador of Brazil to Uzbekistan Sergio Rodrigues dos Santos also participated in the talks.

During the meeting, the parties thoroughly reviewed the current state and prospects for the development of bilateral relations. They noted steady progress in political dialogue, regular contacts at the leadership level of foreign ministries, and an expansion of interparliamentary cooperation.

Special attention was given to trade, economic, and investment cooperation. Discussions focused on opportunities to diversify mutual trade and launch joint projects. The Uzbek side presented Brazilian partners with a package of investment proposals in agriculture, renewable energy, industry, and other priority sectors.

Humanitarian cooperation was also discussed, including the expansion of university partnerships, participation of schoolchildren and students in international Olympiads, and the development of joint initiatives in digitalization and innovation.

The parties exchanged views on current international and climate-related issues, confirming their readiness to continue mutual support within the UN and other multilateral frameworks.

The political consultations concluded with a shared commitment to further deepen Uzbek-Brazilian cooperation and to systematically implement the agreements reached.
