Uzbekistan and Belgium Sign First Bilateral Migration Cooperation Agreement

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Migration Agency of Uzbekistan and the Immigration Directorate of the Federal Public Service of the Kingdom of Belgium have signed the first-ever official bilateral agreement on cooperation in the field of migration.

The agreement provides for the expansion of legal employment opportunities for Uzbek citizens in Belgium, the introduction of European standards into the national migration management system, the implementation of educational programs based on Belgian experience, and the establishment of direct dialogue between the agencies to enhance the transparency and efficiency of migration processes.

Belgium’s Immigration Directorate is the central authority for the country’s migration policy, responsible for issues related to entry, residence, issuance of permits, and provision of international protection.

This new format of cooperation is aimed at strengthening practical ties and modernizing migration management in Uzbekistan.
