Uzbekistan and Belarus Discuss Expanding Cooperation in Archival Affairs

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A meeting was held at the Ministry of Justice of Uzbekistan between Deputy Minister Nu’mon Muhammadiev and Oleg Voinov, Director of the Department of Archives and Records Management of the Ministry of Justice of Belarus, along with his delegation.

During the discussion, Muhammadiev highlighted the progressive development of bilateral cooperation and briefed the guests on large-scale reforms underway in Uzbekistan. He presented information on the national database, regulatory impact assessment mechanisms, and the implementation of the “Regulatory Guillotine” program, under which more than 9,700 outdated legal acts have been abolished in recent years. Special attention was given to optimizing licensing procedures and the permitting system.

The sides discussed prospects for further collaboration in the archival field, including joint projects, the exchange of experience, and the expansion of scientific and methodological cooperation.

At the end of the visit, the Belarusian delegation toured the Museum of the History of Justice Bodies of Uzbekistan, where they familiarized themselves with exhibits reflecting the ministry’s development, key milestones, and significant events in the country’s legal system.
