Uzbekistan and Belarus Discuss Expanding Agricultural Cooperation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan hosted a working meeting attended by Deputy Minister of Agriculture Kahramon Yuldashev, First Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance Ilkhom Norkulov, and Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Yakovets.

During the talks, the parties discussed in detail ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the agricultural sector, expand existing projects, and introduce new joint initiatives. Particular attention was given to the exchange of advanced technologies and the development of industrial cooperation between the two countries.

Concrete proposals were put forward to broaden cooperation in livestock farming, deep processing of milk and dairy products, modernization of the food industry, and the production of high value-added goods.

As an outcome of the meeting, a Protocol was signed providing for a phased increase in supplies of meat and other food products from Belarus to Uzbekistan, as well as the establishment of regular consultations between the two countries to coordinate joint initiatives across the agro-industrial sector.
