Uzbekistan and Belarus Agree to Strengthen Cooperation in Combating Terrorism and Extremism

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 7 October, the latest meeting of the interagency coordination working group between the Ministries of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan and Belarus was held.

The parties discussed ways to enhance interagency cooperation, ensure public safety, and further develop joint efforts in combating terrorism, extremism, and transnational organized crime.

It was noted that the ministries of the two countries have established effective partnership mechanisms, enabling significant achievements in investigative and intelligence activities as well as information exchange.

The meeting was conducted in a constructive and businesslike atmosphere, culminating in the signing of a protocol by the interagency coordination working group.

In the afternoon, the Belarusian Ministry of Internal Affairs delegation visited the Tashkent City Main Department of Internal Affairs, where they were briefed on the work of units responsible for ensuring tourist safety and maintaining public order in the capital.
