Uzbekistan and Belarus Agree to Prepare an Industrial Cooperation Roadmap Through 2030
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 23 February, a meeting was held at the Ministry of Investments, Industry, and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan between Deputy Minister Khurram Teshabayev and Deputy Minister of Industry of the Republic of Belarus, Denis Bakey.
During the talks, the parties discussed the progress of ongoing joint projects, the next steps to deepen industrial cooperation, and plans to develop a Roadmap for Industrial Cooperation through 2030. Special attention was given to projects in poultry farming, the assembly of agricultural machinery, and the production of cable products.
The discussion also addressed the development of bilateral investment cooperation, including the activities of joint ventures.
As of today, 244 enterprises with Belarusian capital operate in Uzbekistan, while 229 enterprises with Uzbek capital operate in Belarus.
Their main areas of activity include the textile and pharmaceutical industries, production of construction materials and leather products, as well as trade, intermediary, and transport-forwarding services.
