Uzbekistan and Bahrain Sign Memorandum on Financial and Economic Cooperation
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance of Uzbekistan Jamshid Kuchkarov met with Yousif Abdullah Al-Humood, Undersecretary for Financial Affairs at the Ministry of Finance and National Economy of Bahrain, as part of Bahrain’s participation in the AlUla Conference on Emerging Market Economies (EME).
The EME event was organized by the Ministry of Finance of Saudi Arabia in cooperation with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
During the talks, both sides noted the positive trajectory of bilateral relations and the expansion of cooperation, particularly in the financial and economic sectors. The Bahraini representative confirmed the Kingdom’s readiness to further strengthen partnership on a mutually beneficial basis.
The meeting concluded with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Ministry of Finance and National Economy of Bahrain and the Ministry of Economy and Finance of Uzbekistan.
The MoU was signed by Yousif Abdullah Al-Humood on behalf of Bahrain and by Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance Ilhom Umurzakov on behalf of Uzbekistan.
The memorandum establishes a framework for closer coordination, including the exchange of expert assessments, regular consultations, and joint economic initiatives. It also provides for the creation of working groups to develop projects and address issues of mutual interest, opening new opportunities to strengthen economic and financial cooperation between the two countries.
