Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan to Host FIFA U-20 World Cup in 2027
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Today, at a FIFA Council meeting, it was decided which countries will host the 2027 FIFA U-20 World Cup.
According to the decision, the tournament will be jointly hosted by Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan. The youth World Cup is the second most prestigious competition after the senior FIFA World Cup for national teams.
In recent years, Uzbekistan has gained significant experience in organizing major international sporting events. In particular, the 2024 FIFA Futsal World Cup held in the country received high praise from the global football community and allowed Uzbek specialists to acquire extensive experience in hosting international tournaments.
In 2027, the world’s best young footballers will gather in Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan to compete in the FIFA U-20 World Cup.
The Uzbekistan Football Association emphasizes that the country is ready to showcase its hospitality, professionalism, and dedication to football, ensuring strong fan support and attracting global attention to the event.
