Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan Deepen Economic Cooperation – Talks Between Mirziyoyev and Asadov
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 10 June, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Ali Asadov, who arrived in the country to participate in the Tashkent International Investment Forum.
At the start of the talks, the Azerbaijani Prime Minister conveyed warm greetings and best wishes to the Uzbek leader from President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed key areas for deepening Uzbek-Azerbaijani relations and strengthening their strategic partnership and allied ties.
Particular attention was given to the successful implementation of joint initiatives within the framework of the Year of Economic Cooperation.
The parties noted the steady growth in bilateral trade and the dynamic development of industrial and investment projects supported by the joint Investment Company. Active collaboration continues in the cultural and humanitarian spheres.
Both sides emphasized the importance of enhancing practical cooperation between their governments to monitor the implementation of existing agreements and develop new forward-looking initiatives in the lead-up to the upcoming high-level summit.
In this context, special emphasis was placed on ensuring the effectiveness of upcoming events, including the next meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission and the Forum of Regions of the two countries.
