Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 9 January 2026, Uzbekistan’s Minister of Investments, Industry, and Trade, Laziz Kudratov, held a working meeting with Yusuf Tugrul Arikan, CEO of Anadolu Isuzu.

The discussion focused on the current state and future prospects of bilateral cooperation, including investment projects, modernization of production capacities, localization, and technology transfer. Particular attention was given to the phased development of the Samarkand Automotive Plant, 75.2% of whose shares were acquired by the investor in December 2025.

Plans were outlined to launch production of new types of agricultural machinery and specialized vehicles, expand the model range, and increase output volumes. The production will be aimed at both the domestic market and export deliveries.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties reaffirmed their mutual interest in strengthening strategic partnership and expanding cooperation in the automotive sector.

In December 2025, the Agency for Management of State Assets of Uzbekistan announced the completion of the sale of 75.2% of the Samarkand Automotive Plant’s (SamAuto) shares to the Turkish company Anadolu Isuzu.
