Uzbekistan and Amazon Leo Discuss Deployment of Satellite Internet to Expand Connectivity

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Minister of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan Sherzod Shermatov held a meeting with representatives of Amazon Leo to discuss the development of bilateral cooperation in the field of satellite internet.

During the talks, the parties reviewed the company’s proposals for deploying the necessary infrastructure in Uzbekistan under the memorandum of understanding previously signed between the ministry and Amazon Leo.

Special attention was given to expanding public access to satellite internet services, introducing advanced technologies, and increasing connectivity capabilities within the telecommunications sector. The discussion also touched on the project’s economic viability, its potential to support local business development, and measures to ensure long-term sustainability.

According to the participants, implementation of the initiative will enhance digital accessibility across the country, improve the quality of internet services, and support the development of innovative infrastructure in Uzbekistan.
