Uzbekistan and Afghanistan Discuss Political and Economic Cooperation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 23 October, Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan, Ismatulla Irgashev, held a meeting with Abdul Khay Kanit, Head of the Third Political Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan.

During the talks, both sides discussed key areas of bilateral cooperation in political-diplomatic and trade-economic spheres.

Acknowledging the dynamic development of contacts at various levels, the participants expressed mutual interest in fully leveraging the existing potential for cooperation.

Particular attention was given to security issues and mechanisms for bilateral and multilateral collaboration aimed at establishing lasting peace in Afghanistan.

The meeting was held in a constructive atmosphere, and the sides agreed to continue a systematic and practical dialogue between the foreign policy agencies of the two countries.
