Uzbekistan and ADB Discuss New US$14 Billion Projects within Strategic Partnership

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — As part of the international forum “From Poverty to Prosperity” in Namangan, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, held a meeting with Inmin Yang, Vice President of the Asian Development Bank (ADB).

During the meeting, Inmin Yang conveyed greetings from ADB President Masato Kanda and congratulated Uzbekistan on the successful organization of the forum. The discussion focused on practical aspects of expanding cooperation with the bank within the framework of Uzbekistan’s strategy of irreversible reforms.

The high level of interaction in recent years was noted. Currently, ADB’s project portfolio in Uzbekistan amounts to US$14 billion, covering areas such as green energy, transport, digital transformation, education, and others.

The President of Uzbekistan proposed the development of a new Strategic Partnership Program with ADB, encompassing projects in infrastructure development, public-private partnerships, business, social sectors, and the capital market.

Special attention was given to initiatives addressing poverty reduction, critical minerals processing, budgetary support, and the creation of a joint investment platform.
