Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Minister of Digital Technologies Sherzod Shermatov held talks with Robert H. Nad, Vice President of Hungarian company 4iG, during the Space Technology Conference STC-2026 in Tashkent.

The discussions focused on expanding cooperation in the development of Uzbekistan’s digital infrastructure. Key topics included strengthening the national IT sector through the creation of modern data centers, attracting foreign investment, and increasing the export of digital services.

Participants emphasized Uzbekistan’s strategic geographic location and improving business climate as favorable conditions for establishing large-scale data processing and storage facilities. Given growing global uncertainties, including in the Middle East, and rising demand for reliable information storage solutions, the parties explored the potential for developing a regional data hub in the country.

Additional points of discussion included promoting remote work, training qualified IT specialists, and expanding outsourcing services for international companies targeting global markets. Special attention was given to supporting the startup ecosystem and attracting foreign venture capital as key drivers of innovation.

Following the meeting, both sides highlighted Uzbekistan’s high potential in digital technologies and confirmed their commitment to deepening partnerships aimed at making the country a regional center for IT services and data processing.
