Uzbekistan Airways Technics converted two passenger Boeing-767 into cargo version

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In order to meet the rapidly growing demand for cargo transportation, as well as in connection with the complete suspension of passenger flights, the Board of Uzbekistan Airways decided to re-equip the temporarily stored passenger aircraft Boeing-767- 300-ER in the cargo version of the Boeing-767-300-PTC (passenger-to-cargo).

The conversion process involves the removal of passenger seats from economy class lounges and the use of vacant useful space for the carriage of goods, which makes it possible to additionally load up to 20 tons of cargo on the upper deck, and increase the total volume of commercial cargo provided to 180 cubic meters.

It should be noted that the conversion was carried out by Uzbekistan Airways Technics LLC in compliance with all necessary requirements and in accordance with Boeing company documents.

The conversion also includes amendments to existing instructions and technologies, with approval by the Aviation Administration under the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The first commercial operation of the cargo version of one of these aircraft is scheduled for 21 April 2020.

The completion of the technical re-equipment and commercialization of the 2nd Boeing-767-300-PTC aircraft is scheduled for 26 April 2020, with the subsequent commencement of commercial operation from 27 April.
