Uzbekistan Airways Signs Agreement for Four New Airbus A321neo Aircraft

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan Airways and leasing company CALC (China Aircraft Leasing Group Holdings Limited) have signed letters of intent for the delivery of four new Airbus A321neo aircraft in a two-class configuration. Deliveries are scheduled for 2027–2028.

The new aircraft will feature Airbus Airspace Premium cabins, in-flight entertainment systems, and high-speed wireless internet connectivity, providing passengers with digital services and a high level of comfort during flights.

The agreements continue the successful partnership between Uzbekistan Airways and CALC, reflecting sustainable cooperation with one of the world’s leading aircraft lessors.

Under a long-term fleet renewal and expansion program for 2026–2028, Uzbekistan Airways plans to receive six A321neo aircraft from CALC. After delivery, the airline’s total A321neo fleet will reach 15 aircraft, strengthening its position as a leading carrier in Central Asia.

The new Airbus A321neo combines efficiency, advanced engineering solutions, and passenger convenience, fully aligning with our strategy of sustainable development and enhancing competitiveness in the international market,” said Shukhrat Khudaikulov, Chairman of Uzbekistan Airways.

CALC President and Chief Commercial Officer Winnie Liu stated: “We are pleased to strengthen our partnership with Uzbekistan Airways through this new agreement for four A321neo aircraft. These next-generation planes reflect CALC’s commitment to providing airlines with modern, flexible fleet solutions that improve operational efficiency and passenger comfort. The deal also reinforces CALC’s presence in Central Asia, a region of growing importance in our global portfolio.”

The delivery of the new Airbus A321neo aircraft is part of Uzbekistan Airways’ broader fleet modernization and digital service program, aimed at improving operational efficiency, expanding the route network, and reducing the carbon footprint. The agreements with CALC confirm the airline’s strategic focus on modern solutions, international cooperation, and continuous enhancement of passenger service quality.
