Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree “On measures to fundamentally improve civil aviation of the Republic of Uzbekistan”.
The head of Uzbekistan approved a proposal for the reorganization of the National Airline "Uzbekistan Airways".
According to the document, Uzbekistan Airways is created on the basis of the Directorate of Uzbekistan Airways, as well as the state unitary enterprises Letniy Kompleks, the Main Agency for Air Traffic and the Procurement Complex Uzaviatekhsnab.
Uzbekistan Airports is being established in Uzbekistan. Uzbekistan Airports will receive the state share in the authorized capital of all airports.
Uzbekistan Airways is entrusted with efficient use of the aircraft fleet, including with the development of new directions and the expansion of flight geography.
The airline will also introduce modern systems and technologies for managing production processes, as well as update its fleet.
The head of Uzbekistan instructed Uzbekistan Airways to improve the quality of services provided to passengers on board aircraft, as well as maintenance and repair of aircraft, including foreign airlines.
The company is entrusted to attract investments, primarily foreign direct, including through the issuance of shares and corporate bonds. The airline should provide a high level of safety during the flight.
The reorganized company Uzbekistan Airways has been given the task of integrating into the international community of air carriers and achieving the level of a regional leader.
Uzbekistan Airways, with the involvement of the World Bank Group and other international consultants, was entrusted with ensuring the development of a sustainable business model for its activities, taking into account the optimal asset structure that ensures the profitability of the airline.
Uzbekistan Airports will develop and implement long-term development strategies for airports, as well as attract investments to improve airport infrastructure, including using public-private partnership mechanisms and cooperation with leading international companies in the field of airport management.
The new company must maintain a high level of passenger service for air carriers at airports and create the necessary conditions for them.
The head of Uzbekistan instructed Uzbekistan Airports to ensure the effective functioning of the relevant airport services, optimizing the process of servicing passengers, cargo, mail and baggage.
The enterprise will expand modern airports in the airports network of commerce, catering, banking and other passenger services, including on the terms of a public-private partnership.
