Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan Airways has issued an official statement in response to media and online reports claiming a possible data breach.

“At present, there have been no confirmed incidents involving unauthorized access to our information systems or compromise of passenger or employee personal data. All infrastructure is operating normally,” the airline emphasized.

Company representatives noted that examples cited in several publications as evidence of a breach are inaccurate and unrelated to Uzbekistan Airways’ information systems. Preliminary assessments suggest the data may have been artificially generated or edited to create a false impression of an incident.

“Nevertheless, a formal internal review has been initiated in accordance with existing protocols for responding to information security threats. The results of this review will be used to further assess the security of our systems,” the airline added.

Uzbekistan Airways urged media outlets and online users to refrain from spreading unverified information that could mislead the public and harm the company’s reputation.
