Uzbekistan Airways alters flight routes to Pakistan and India amid escalating conflict

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In response to escalating armed conflict in the region, Uzbekistan Airways has modified its flight routes to Pakistan and India, rerouting around airspace controlled by Pakistan, the airline’s press service reported.

In recent days, the national carrier has been operating flights to Lahore (Pakistan’s second-largest city) and New Delhi via a southern corridor to avoid overflying conflict-affected areas, including Kashmir.

According to Uzbekistan Airways, the route adjustments were made to enhance flight safety. However, the airline emphasized that the changes will have minimal impact on the flight schedule and that operations to Pakistan, India, and Southeast Asian countries will continue as planned. Additionally, a new route from Tashkent to Islamabad is set to launch on June 14.

Meanwhile, private airline Qanot Sharq reported delays on its flights from Tashkent to Nha Trang (Vietnam).

According to Flightradar24, flight HH2231, which was scheduled to depart at 01:50, was delayed by 12 hours. The aircraft returned to Uzbekistan after having flown over Pakistani territory.

The airline clarified that flights to Nha Trang may be subject to changes or delays due to the closure of Pakistani airspace and subsequent Indian airstrikes.

Qanot Sharq stated it is closely monitoring the situation and taking all necessary measures to minimize inconvenience for passengers.
