Uzbekistan Airports Welcomes Its 15 Millionth Passenger at Karshi Airport

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Today, on 22 December, a ceremonial event was held at Karshi International Airport to welcome the 15 millionth passenger of Uzbekistan’s airports. The milestone passenger was a woman traveling on Ural Airlines flight U6-2457 on the Moscow–Karshi route.

The 15 millionth passenger was identified as Sarvinoz Burieva, who arrived home together with her husband and young daughter.

In the arrivals hall, representatives of Uzbekistan Airports congratulated her and presented commemorative gifts, including a personalized “Honorary Passenger of Uzbekistan Airports” certificate, a travel suitcase, a set of branded merchandise, as well as a voucher for a free airline ticket on the Karshi–Moscow route.

“Fifteen million passengers is not just a number. It reflects the trust of travelers, the steady development of airport infrastructure, and the growing mobility of the population. For Karshi Airport to be part of such an event is a great honor and a confirmation of our role in the development of the country’s air connectivity,” said Uktam Kurbanov, Director of Karshi International Airport.

The milestone passenger also shared her impressions. “It was a complete surprise for me. My family and I were flying home for the holidays and had no idea that I would become the anniversary passenger. I am very happy and grateful for such a warm welcome and the gifts. I will remember this arrival for a long time,” Sarvinoz Burieva said.

Reaching the mark of 15 million passengers represents an important milestone in the activities of Uzbekistan Airports and demonstrates the company’s consistent efforts to expand its route network, modernize airports, and improve the quality of passenger services.
