Uzbekistan Airports Receives ESG Rating of “3” from Sustainable Fitch

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The international rating agency Sustainable Fitch has assigned Uzbekistan Airports an ESG Entity Rating of “3” with a final score of 48, confirming the company’s sustainable profile in environmental, social, and corporate governance areas.

The rating reflects consistent progress in achieving the objectives set by the Presidential Decree No. 16 of January 30, 2025, under the “Uzbekistan – 2030” Strategy, as well as initiatives implemented during the Year of Environmental Protection and the “Green Economy” program.

In the environmental segment, Sustainable Fitch highly praised the company’s strategy to achieve Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions at Scope 1 and 2 levels by 2050. The assessment particularly highlighted measures to reduce carbon intensity and develop renewable energy sources.

In the social sphere, the agency noted Uzbekistan Airports’ occupational safety system, workforce stability, and active stakeholder engagement. In terms of corporate governance, the evaluation emphasized the work of Board committees, the internal audit system, and transparency mechanisms.

In early 2026, Uzbekistan Airports plans to achieve Level 1 of the Airport Carbon Accreditation program for eight airports and Level 2 for Tashkent International Airport.

The assigned ESG rating opens new opportunities for the company to attract “green” investments, expand cooperation with international financial institutions and partners, enhance investment appeal, strengthen investor confidence, and create favorable conditions for financing sustainable and infrastructure projects.
