Uzbekistan Airports and Baku International Airport Discuss Cooperation Development
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — As part of the International Aviation and Logistics Forum held in Tashkent, discussions were held between Javlonbek Umarhodjaev, Chairman of Uzbekistan Airports, and Teymur Hasanov, Director of Baku International Airport.
During the meeting, both sides discussed extensive plans to modernize airport infrastructure in their respective countries, including the introduction of environmentally friendly, energy-saving, and digital technologies aimed at enhancing passenger comfort and safety.
The participants emphasized that airport development is a key component of the strategy for sustainable growth of the transport system and contributes to strengthening the transit potential of both Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan.
Particular attention was given to obtaining an international Skytrax rating. The Azerbaijani side shared its experience in certifying Heydar Aliyev International Airport and expressed readiness to assist Uzbekistan Airports in undergoing a similar certification process.
At the same time, a delegation from Uzbekistan Airports is visiting Baku to study operational practices and infrastructure solutions at the airport, with plans to adapt and implement these approaches in Uzbek airports.
