Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov held a meeting with Secretary General of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-Speaking States (CCTS) Baghdad Amreev.
The parties exchanged views on key areas of bilateral cooperation and discussed further steps to enhance interaction in priority areas.
The significant contribution of the CCTS Secretariat to ensuring the practical implementation of Uzbekistan’s initiatives and a constructive approach to solving common problems was emphasized.
An agreement was reached on practical cooperation in order to further strengthen the activities of the CCTS - the Uzbek side will take an active part in the development and approval of a number of conceptual documents, such as "Vision of the Turkic World - 2040" and "Strategy of the Turkic Council for 2020-2025".
The parties noted the successful holding of the meeting of the tourism ministers of the Turkic Council countries in Kokand, one of the results of which was the joining of Uzbekistan to the Modern Silk Road program.
The Modern Silk Road project was created in 2018 during the meeting of the tourism ministers of the Turkic Council member countries at a meeting in Astana. The main goal of the project is to create a platform for the development and promotion of joint travel packages covering all CCTS countries.
Prospects for the development of cooperation with CCTS in the investment, trade and economic spheres were discussed. In this vein, the possibilities of joint work on the creation of a Joint Investment and Integration Fund were considered, the function of which will be to finance projects in the CCTS member countries.
They also considered ways of interaction in the field of transport and transit, meaning the development of proposals for the effective use of transport corridors passing through the territory of the CCTS countries and the implementation of joint projects in the transport and logistics sector.
Further steps are outlined for cooperation in the preparation of a number of bilateral events, such as meetings of ministers of youth and sports, ministers of agriculture, the Forum of Young Entrepreneurs and the Turkic Agroforum, which are scheduled to be held this year.
Following the meeting, the parties outlined further steps to implement the agreements reached and the initiatives being promoted, and also expressed their readiness to strengthen the multifaceted cooperation of Uzbekistan with the CCTS.
