Uzbekistan, Afghanistan Target US$500M Pharma Trade
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Director of the Pharmaceutical Industry Development Agency Abdulla Azizov, during an official visit to Kabul, held talks with Afghanistan’s Minister of Industry and Commerce, Nuriddin Azizi.
During the meeting, both sides highlighted the high quality and competitiveness of Uzbekistan’s pharmaceutical products and set a priority goal of increasing bilateral trade in the sector to US$500 million.
To achieve this target, the parties proposed establishing a joint operational working group. Key areas of cooperation include developing collaboration based on international Good Distribution Practice (GDP) standards and establishing direct engagement with major distributors in the Afghan market.
The sides also emphasized the importance of forming a technical working group, expanding information exchange, and preparing for the signing of bilateral cooperation agreements in the near future.
