Uzbekistan Advocates for Expanded Industrial and Investment Cooperation with China
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Deputy Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Ilzat Kasimov, took part in the Second Forum on Industrial and Investment Cooperation between Central Asia and China, held in Astana.
The event served as an important platform for dialogue between government officials and business representatives from Central Asian countries and China. The forum focused primarily on strengthening economic partnerships, establishing joint ventures, and attracting investment into strategically important sectors.
In his address, Ilzat Kasimov emphasized the importance of deepening cooperation with China — one of Uzbekistan’s key trade and economic partners and a major investor. He stated that Uzbekistan is open to active collaboration in sectors such as mechanical engineering, chemical production, food processing, and the textile industry. According to him, pooling the production and investment capacities of both sides would elevate their role in global supply chains and become a powerful driver of sustainable development for the entire region.
Thematic panel sessions during the forum explored prospects for digital transformation, the development of logistics corridors, and cooperation in the agro-industrial and metallurgical sectors.
The forum concluded with B2B and B2G negotiations, during which participants discussed concrete steps for implementing the proposed initiatives and launching joint projects.
