Uzbekistan Advances to Quarterfinals of AFC U-23 Championship

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan’s under-21 national team has confidently advanced to the quarterfinals of the AFC U-23 Championship, finishing first in Group C.

In the final group-stage match, the Uzbek team defeated South Korea 2-0. The opening goal came in the 48th minute from Behruz Karimov, and in the 70th minute, Saidumarxon Saidnurullaev doubled Uzbekistan’s lead.

In a parallel match, Lebanon secured a 1-0 victory over Iran, with Leonardo Farah Shkhin converting a precise penalty in the 56th minute.

At the conclusion of the group stage, Uzbekistan accumulated seven points, finishing first in the group. South Korea came in second with four points, Lebanon third with three points, and Iran fourth with two points.
