Uzbekistan Advances to FIFA U-17 World Cup Round of 16 After Victory Over Croatia

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan national team has advanced to the Round of 16 at the FIFA U-17 World Cup in Qatar, defeating Croatia.

The opening goal came in the 24th minute when Sadriddin Hasanov headed the ball into the net following a cross from the right flank.

Croatia equalized in the 80th minute after a defensive lapse by the Uzbek team. Tino Kusanovich scored the goal. The match ended 1-1 in regular time, and the winner was decided in a penalty shootout, where Uzbekistan prevailed 4-3.

In the Round of 16, Uzbekistan will face Italy, who previously defeated the Czech Republic 2-0. The match is scheduled for 18 November.
