Uzbekistan adopts measures to organize activities of FAO Office

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Government of Uzbekistan issued a resolution “On measures on organization of organization of activities of the Office of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations” on 26 November 2014.

The resolution said that Uzbekistan and FAO signed an agreement on establishment of FAO Office in Uzbekistan on 5 June 2014.

In line with the agreement, the Government of Uzbekistan provides premises to FAO Office and covers expenses related to payment of salaries of personal.

The Cabinet of Ministers approved a proposal of the Ministry of Agriculture and Water Management, Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Economy of Uzbekistan on financing of expenses related to payment of salaries of employees and office of FAO due to resources issued to the Ministry of Agriculture and Water Management to payment as bonuses for varietal cotton seeds.

The document said that Ministry of Agriculture and Water Management approves expenses of the FAO office and on behalf of the Government of Uzbekistan submits candidates to positions, which is financed by resources of the Ministry.

It added that foreign employees and their families should receive accreditation in line with the order set in Uzbekistan.

Ministry of Agriculture and Water Management will be located at the Tashkent State Agriculture University in Tashkent city. The ministry and university will provide necessary equipment and furniture to the FAO Office.
