Uzbekenergo plans to use about US$750m investments in 2014

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- State joint stock company Uzbekenergo is planning to use capital investments for US$750 million due to all source of financing in 2014, the company said today at the press conference in Tashkent.

According to the company, it is planned to complete and launch six projects this year.

Within investment activity, Uzbekenergo conducts works on modernization and reconstruction of power station, power supply lines and substations, which will allow sustainable work of energy system and reliable electricity supply to population, as well as increase exports of electricity.

Currently, Uzbekenergo is working on projects on expansion of Talimarjan thermal power station with construction of two combined cycle power facilities with a capacity of 450 MW each, expansion of Navoi thermal power station with construction of the second combined cycle power facility with a capacity of 450 MW, Construction of new thermal power station with the capacity of 900 MW in Turakurgan district of Namangan region, Construction of solar power station with the capacity of 100 MW in Samarkand region.

Uzbekenergo is a body, which manages power and coal industry in Uzbekistan. It unites 54 enterprises and organizations. The installed capacities of power stations make up 12.97 million kilowatts.
