Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A female citizen of Uzbekistan who found herself in a difficult social situation has been repatriated from Pakistan, according to the Dunyo news agency.

The woman approached the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Islamabad seeking assistance, explaining that she was in a dire state, lacked the means to support herself, and could not meet even her basic needs. The diplomatic mission took the matter under special control and promptly provided the necessary support.

Consular staff issued her a certificate authorizing her return to Uzbekistan, and with the help of sponsors and the embassy, a plane ticket was purchased. The woman safely returned to Tashkent on a flight from Islamabad.

Earlier, another Uzbek woman and her children were repatriated from Russia after becoming victims of domestic violence. Her husband, who was living illegally in Russia and unable to work, had confiscated her passport to prevent her from returning home.
