Uzbek Woman Dies in Phuket Road Accident
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A traffic accident in Phuket, Thailand, has resulted in the death of an Uzbek citizen, according to TASS.
The crash occurred at approximately 4:00 a.m. local time (2:00 a.m. Tashkent time) as tourists were traveling by minibus to visit the Similan Islands. On the way, the vehicle lost control and collided with an electric pole.
Eight Russian citizens sustained injuries in the accident, three of whom were hospitalized, with two in serious condition. Four Uzbek citizens were also injured. All victims were taken to medical facilities for treatment.
According to the driver, the accident happened after a truck traveling ahead of the minibus braked sharply, causing the vehicle to lose control.
Phuket police have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the crash.
