Uzbek universities to open correspondence departments for pedagogical directions

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a resolution “On organization of special correspondence department for pedagogical directions at higher educational institutions”.

The document is aimed at improving quality of education and upbringing in general education schools, pre-school and out-of-school educational institutions by training teachers with advanced teaching methods for them in higher educational institutions, creating necessary conditions for expanding opportunities for higher education by teachers with secondary specialized education.

According to the resolution, special correspondence departments will be organized in 15 higher educational institutions to train teachers and educators in areas of pre-school, elementary, music education, labor training, fine arts, foreign languages, physical education and other subjects starting from 2017/2018 academic year.

In this result, teachers, working in remote areas of the country and rural areas, will allow to obtain higher education at universities, located in their region.

The Uzbek leader set admission rules for newly created correspondence departments. The document said that pedagogical personnel, who have specialized secondary vocational education and experience of at least three years of practical work, as well as recommendations will be admitted to new departments.

President of Uzbekistan granted a number of benefits to students of a special correspondence department. Students of correspondence departments will receive study leaves twice a year to take their exams.

According to the resolution, the Tashkent State Pedagogical University named after Nizami is defined as the base higher educational institution for creation of qualification requirements, curricula and programs, educational and methodical literature on the directions of the formation of a special correspondence department.
