Uzbek, Turkmen leaders open railway, automobile bridges

Bridges across Amudarya open a direct flow of goods from the countries of the Asia-Pacific region, South Asia to the Caspian Sea and further to the Black Sea and Mediterranean regions, countries of Europe, the Caucasus, and the Middle East. This will entail an increase in business activity, the influx of large investments, and creation of numerous jobs.

Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized in his speech, with the introduction of new bridges across the Amudarya, the horizons of partnership and the use of potential of such large organizations as SCO, CIS, and ECO, will expand significantly.

The objectives of implementing such projects correspond to the long-term strategy of the United Nations and OSCE in terms of seeing the region as a strong link in the chain of strategic stability in the southern belt of Eurasia.

The four-lane automobile bridge has the length of 21.5 meters. The special conditions were created for pedestrians.
