Uzbek Students Participate in Regional Final of Huawei ICT Competition 2025–2026

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 23 December 2025, nine students from Uzbekistan took part in the regional stage of the Huawei ICT Competition 2025–2026 for the Middle East and Central Asia.

The competition was held online at the Huawei ICT Academy based at Tashkent University of Information Technologies named after Muhammad al-Khwarizmi.

The practical part of the contest was conducted in three tracks: Network, Computing, and Cloud.

The annual ICT Competition 2025–2026 was officially launched on 24 September 2025 during the “Artificial Intelligence in Digital Education” forum, held as part of ICTWEEK Uzbekistan 2025.

Participation was open to students of Huawei ICT Academies and higher education institutions specializing in ICT. In 2025, Huawei celebrated the 10th anniversary of the ICT Competition in the Middle East and Central Asia, through which the company has trained over half a million ICT specialists.

Following the national selection, students from Tashkent University of Information Technologies, Inha University in Tashkent, Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent, and Fergana State Technical University advanced to the regional final.

The achievements of national-stage participants, as well as the contributions of Huawei ICT Academy instructors, were recognized during an award ceremony held before the start of the practical laboratory exam.

Divided into three teams, Uzbek students began working on the competition tasks alongside participants from 13 other countries in the region, including Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Jordan, Iraq, Kazakhstan, Qatar, Kuwait, Lebanon, the UAE, Oman, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Turkmenistan.

For Uzbek students, this marked their second participation in the Huawei ICT Competition. Huawei continues to foster a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and professional development, providing opportunities for young ICT specialists to realize their potential and gain international recognition.

Last year, regional-stage winners took part in an award ceremony in Saudi Arabia, while finalists in the innovation track debuted at the global final in China, where they placed third.
