Uzbek Senator Participates in International Conference on Central Asian Security

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 20 November 2025, Kutbiddin Burkhanov, Chairman of the Senate Committee of the Oliy Majlis on Defense and Security, took part in the international scientific-theoretical conference “Regionalism and Stability: Ensuring Security in Central Asia Amid Global Changes,” held at the University of Military Security and Defense of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The conference brought together representatives from over 100 organizations and countries, experts from leading military academies, as well as scholars from top universities and research institutions in Uzbekistan. The forum also attracted significant media attention.

In his report, Senator Burkhanov highlighted the key challenges facing countries in the region amid global geopolitical transformations. He emphasized the importance of strengthening international cooperation in security, building resilient mutual trust, and developing long-term strategies to ensure regional stability.

Participants acknowledged Uzbekistan’s initiatives aimed at reinforcing peace, stability, and good-neighborly relations in Central Asia.

Plenary sessions featured reports on the role of international organizations in global and regional security systems, as well as the significance of regional cooperation in enhancing stability across Central and South Asia.

Following discussions, experts formulated a set of proposals and recommendations focused on improving regional security policies, promoting new scientific and practical initiatives, expanding joint research, and strengthening mechanisms for international collaboration.
