Uzbek Senate Discusses Cooperation with UN Preventive Diplomacy

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 19 March, Orzigul Kozikhonova, Chair of the Senate Committee on Youth, Women, Culture, and Sports, met with Andrey Khanzhin, Political Affairs Advisor at the UN Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy in Central Asia.

The discussions focused on the 2026 activities of the Dialogue of Leading Women of Central Asian countries and initiatives under the “Women, Peace, and Security” agenda.

Special attention was given to promoting gender equality, expanding women’s participation in public and political life, strengthening their role in governance, and enhancing their contribution to regional peace and stability.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their mutual interest in further developing cooperation, exchanging expertise, and implementing joint initiatives.
