Uzbek scientists develop a unique method for finding hidden deposits of precious metals

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - At the end of August 2019, Rustam Khalmatov, Ph.D. in Geology and Mineralogy, Deputy Director of the Center for Advanced Technologies, made an oral presentation at the Conference of the Society of Applied Geology of Mineral Fields in Glasgow (Scotland) for the first time from Uzbekistan.

The Society of Applied Geology of Mineral Deposits (SGA) is an international scientific society that promotes the science of geology of mineral deposits. SGA was founded in 1965 in Heidelberg and registered in Switzerland in 1971. Its members around the world are more than 1300 people. These are researchers, specialists and students from universities, industrial centers and government representatives interested in economic geology, mineral resources, industrial minerals and environmental aspects related to mineral deposits.

Rustam Khalmatov has been a member of the Society since 2006. The conference takes place every 2 years. This year participants from 54 countries of the world gathered here. The speech of our compatriot aroused interest among foreign colleagues.

Scientists of the Center for Advanced Technologies have developed a method of mineralogical and geochemical nanotechnology in the search, typification and evaluation of hidden deposits of precious metals. In combination with micro-nano-mineralogical research methods, they allow you to get direct signs of these deposits. To date, all deposits on the surface have already been found, our goal is to find hidden deposits of precious metals.

Professor Rustam Koneev, a leading researcher at the Laboratory of Geophysics and Nanomineralogy of the Center for Advanced Technologies, also made a poster presentation at the conference.

Following the meeting, our scientists have established new contacts with foreign colleagues. Negotiations were held with the Czech Geological Survey about joint research.
