Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed the law "On Transport".
According to the law, road, air, rail, water, electric transport, metro and transport infrastructure facilities constitute a single transport system of Uzbekistan.
State bodies and officials have no right to interfere in the economic activities of transport organizations and to involve their employees in other work.
The Ministry of Transport is a specially authorized state body in this area.
According to the Law, vehicles must have a certificate of conformity or a certificate defining the type of vehicle and be registered.
It is prohibited to import, manufacture, sell or use vehicles that do not meet safety requirements in Uzbekistan.
During the transit carriage of goods at checkpoints across the state border, transit goods and documents are identified.
In accordance with the Law, international and territorial transport and logistics centers can be created in Uzbekistan, based on the type of operations performed in relation to goods and vehicles.
Transport and logistics centers provide services for warehousing, storage, processing, packaging and distribution of cargo, arriving and exporting by any type of transport.
The competent authorities can check the vehicle, trunk, cargo, passengers and others at the train station, airport, metro and at the entrance to the bus station.
It is also prohibited to design and build objects of transport organizations in the locations of mineral resources, to place underground structures at their locations. In exceptional cases, design and construction is permitted by the State Committee for Geology and Mineral Resources.
Transport organizations and carriers must organize initial and periodic medical examination of employees whose activities are related to road traffic and whose working conditions are extremely harmful and difficult.
The law comes into force 3 months after the date of its official publication.
