Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – The President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a law “On Metrology” in new edition.
In accordance with the Law, the metrological service in Uzbekistan consists of the state metrological service, metrological services of state and economic administration bodies, as well as metrological services of other legal organs.
The State Metrological Service consists of a specially authorized state body (Uzstandard), its territorial bodies and the Uzbek National Institute of Metrology.
The law defines the powers of these bodies in the field of metrological activity.
Also, the Law defines regulatory documents to ensure the unity of measurements of the following types in Uzbekistan:
- the method of verification of measuring instruments;
- methodology for calibrating measuring instruments;
- measurement technique;
- methodology for certification of test equipment.
The new term “packaged goods in packages” and a new article regulating state metrological supervision of the amount of packaged goods in packages are introduced into the Law.
According to this, this supervision is carried out in cases where the contents of the package cannot be changed without opening or deformation, and the mass, volume, length, area and other quantities indicating the amount of goods contained in the package are indicated on the package.
At the same time, state metrological control can be carried out by means of test purchases.
