Uzbek President Signs Decree on Population and Agricultural Census
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan has signed a decree on conducting a population and agricultural census, according to the official portal Lex.uz.
The census is scheduled to take place from January 15 to February 28 of next year. A republican commission, including the National Statistics Committee, will be responsible for organizing and implementing the event.
The census is expected to gather up-to-date data on approximately 38 million residents. It will also provide detailed information on the annual expenditures of 25.6 trillion soums allocated for the agro-industrial sector and 25.2 trillion soums for social development.
Experts note that the census will enhance transparency in public spending, improve resource management, and strengthen Uzbekistan’s standing in international rankings.
