Uzbek President receives Latvian FM
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) --
President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov received Minister of Foreign Affairs of Latvia Edgars Rinkēvičs at the presidential residence Oqsaroy on 16 May 2013.
Uzbek leader underlined that regular Uzbek-Latvian intergovernmental dialogue on wide-range of issues allows to consider practical issues of bilateral and multilateral character, exchange opinion and rate actual international and regional issues.
Edgars Rinkēvičs expressed gratitude to the President of Uzbekistan for warm reception and expressed interested of the Latvian leadership in further deepening cooperation with Uzbekistan on long-term and pragmatic bases.
The sides considered other issues of mutual interest.
Latvia is the third largest trade partner of Uzbekistan among the EU member states. The trade turnover between two states reached US$243.3 million.
