Uzbek President receives Dmitry Kozak
During the meeting, President Islam Karimov expressed his satisfaction with the current state of trade and economic relations between two nations and pointed out that Uzbekistan is for dynamic development and diversification of investment and trade cooperation with Russia.
President Islam Karimov said he is satisfied with the outcomes of the sixteenth session of the intergovernmental commission for economic cooperation between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Russian Federation, which was held in Tashkent on 26 November.
Russia is Uzbekistan’s important trade partner. The trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Russia made up US$7 billion in 2013 and US$4.55 billion in nine months of 2014.
It was stressed at the same time that the volume of mutual trade hardly reflects the potential our two nations have. Interaction in transport and transit shipping is also crucial in the expansion of bilateral cooperation.
