The head of state proposed to create an International Islamic Center for Young Scientists and establish a special award for scientists of OIC member countries.
In his opinion, the Center will become a platform for exchange of experience and knowledge, as well as for joint research.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev proposed to organize in Uzbekistan, with the assistance of the OIC Standing Committee, an international olympiad of young mathematicians dedicated to the great Al-Kharazmi.
“It would be expedient to establish a special OIC award for scientific achievements in the countries of the Islamic world, as well as their promotion in international arena,” Mirziyoyev said.
“The wide use of alternative energy sources is of particular relevance for all of us. In this regard, we express our readiness to implement relevant research and experimental and innovative projects, including on the basis of joint investment of investments,” the President of Uzbekistan said.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev expressed his readiness to host the next OIC Summit, dedicated to the development of science and technology.
“Taking into account importance of scientific and technical progress for sustainable economic development and ensuring a decent standard of living for the population of our countries, I propose to hold the OIC Summit on Science and Technologies every three years, and if this proposal is supported, we are ready to hold the next summit in 2020 in Uzbekistan”, he added.
“Today’s summit is truly a historic step towards strengthening the unity of the countries of the Islamic world in the name of progress and prosperity, and we are confident that this forum will contribute to the embodiment of the sacred hadeeth: “The acquisition of knowledge is the duty of every Muslim and Muslim woman,” concluded Mirziyoyev.
